Summary0001023: [BFX-AT100][BTVQ-17443] When change TV, don't work iSET feature.

we receive some report from SKB QA about ISet .

F/W Ver : 15.522.27
WebUI : 5.2.2.90

[procedure]
1. In pairing btw RCU(BMM-BA02/BRM-BA02) and STB on SEC TV.
2. as push hotkey(TV power key + OK Key) as long , green LED is blinking and Push an external key at 1 times.
3. Push Volume of LG tv RCU and push OK button of RCU(BMM-BA02).
4. After checking about volume up via an external key of RCU on LG TV, it is working and after plug out hdmi cable and connect to SEC TV.
5. push an external key of RCU on SEC TV for checking about iset.

[Result]
although push an external key of RCU on SEC TV, don't work it properly . however, it work it on LG TV.

how can we get full EDID data in a log ?

I can search "EDID" in a log.. but the data is spread. so can't gather information. please help this.

Hi Jason,

I've checked EDID in log files and found EDID header of Samsung TV is completely wrong.
Please check EDID on WiKi. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extended_Display_Identification_Data#EDID_1.4_data_format)
The correct header of EDID should be "00 ff ff ff ff ff ff 00".

You can try to put SAM TV's EDID to any EDID parser tool, you will also get error while checking for the header.
If I replace the header with "00 ff ff ff ff ff ff 00" in SAM TV's EDID, then checksum will be correct.

BTW, I think AML's EDID parser skip the header and only parse contents.
So we still see there is no problem while STB connect to that SAM TV.

Hi kerwin..

 I think AML's EDID parser skip the header and only parse contents.
 So we still see there is no problem while STB connect to that SAM TV.
--> it mean it is related to SEC TV'S edid problem or AML parser problem.

Hi Jason,

I can't tell you the answer from the log files.
You have to use another STB to get EDID on that TV, then we know it is SEC TV or AML's problem.

SEC TV EDID Value is different from each STB Box.
case Intek box, it seem be OK for EDID header file. please see a log file.

Hi Jason,

I don't understand about you reply about "SEC TV EDID Value is different from each STB Box."
Does only AI2 get correct EDID ?
Do you use the same cable and TV HDMI input port to check EDID data ?
Sometimes the result is not the same if you connect to different HDMI port of TV.

they compare EDID header with A12 box.. so as your comment, BIP-AI100_20201120-102408.zip based on synaptics.
so Is this AML Parser problem ?
this is SKB QA for BTF project issue.. so we have to support as urgently.

Hi Jason,

Could you ask SKB QA to use the same TV HDMI port and verify this issue again ?
From log file, I think SKB QA use a different HDMI port to test.
If STB is connected to the same port, there should be "Wrong EDID header" message in log file.
